Hi Everybody,
This is my blog spot. My Travel blog for Gangotri , Yamunotri and Badrinath Via Rishikesh and Uttarkashi.
I started on 11th May 2009 from Hyderabad along with Oddenna.
We planned this tour to last for about 2 months and awnted it to be as natural as possible, stopping at such places where we could cook our own food.
We purchased the necessary kitchen items from Delhi and left for Rishikesh, incedentally this is my fav. town with lots of Aashrams temples and only little distance away from Haridwar.
Our first stay was at Rishikesh at Andhra Nirvana Ashram on the banks of Ganga at Triveni ghat. I must say the Ashram as well as the TriveniGhat is very very beautiful place.
We roamed about doing some shopping of Spatik Malas, etc and well there are always book shops. so I sent Oddenna to go about town indicating the book shops in which i can be found.
I really cant have enough of Rishikesk .This is my 5or 6th visit but still it feels so new every time i visit it. The morning and evening baths in the Ganga at Triveni ghat are unforgetable

(THIS IS TRIVENI GHAT)
we got delayed due to bus shortage and had to start after 2 days to gangotri and as we planned to visit Gomukh the actual birth place og Ganga which is about 19 KMs Trek in Himalayas from Gangaotri
we had to stop at Uttarkashi to secure permission from forest department for security clearence in view of terrorist threat to these spots. so we satyed there for 2 days and after the clearence we started for Gangotri and for there to Gomukh by walk the trekking was very tough and dangerous and very draining . my partner Oddenna colapssed on the road side creating few

(THIS IS ONE EXAMPLE OF THE DANGEROUS TREK ON THE WAY TO GOMUKH)
moments of worry but was ok the nexy day after some medication.
I must say while travelling in the mountains one must carry lots of glucon-d pakets for energy
suppliment as one gets very tired very soon and one has to trek slowly spending as less enegry as possible and must carry warm cloths in amle numbers for the risk of cold stoke which could be lethal.
but the effort was well paid as the sights of nature and beauty of himalayas were simply splindid.but the trek was full of exitement owing to the dangerous tracks and threat of large rocks falling

ON THE WAY TO GOMUKH
on you any time.
from there we proceeded to Yamunotri. and on the way we were accompanied a telugu couple who shared the rest of journey to yamonotri back upto rishikesh.
Yamunotri is very tough to clime as it is a 7 kms trek on a vert steep way. we 4 stayed at the top of the hill at Yamunotri at night and started back after darshan to Rishikesh .
I and Oddenna Proceeded to Badrinath after 1 days stay at my fav. Rishikesh.
At badrinath we had to make a little effort to locate a suitable place of stay for about 50 days. But as fate would have it I was lead to Mahant Dharnidharwho oferd a place 1 Km away from badrinath, a remote enough place to carry out our planned spiritual practices. But the 'Kutiya' or a hutment as it is called there was vert small but sufficient for us . there was no electricity but for a small wooden cot not even sufficient for one.
As we proceeded to spend our day in the Kutiya we found to our horror 2 scorpions and Oddenna promptly decided he had enough of Badrinath and said he would proceed to hyderabad the very next day which he did.
today is my 8th day at Badrinath and i could luckily located chap who would rent his laptop so that i can send this mail. Ima attaching a few of our pictures. do respond.

experiencing bliss is it?
ReplyDeleteif you guys had any idea of what iam experiencing here you would know what it is!
first of all the stress , both mental and physical, of the discipline i have undertaken is bit too much for me.i had no idea of it earlier.
and to top it the diet and the extreme climate is too much for 2 months . it would have been fine for 4-5 days. and the icing on the cake is the proposals iam getting from etherial beings
but luckily for me i dont date outside my species . yes to list them 3 spirits (i got this fact known from Dhanalaxmi amma)causing nightmarish dreams
and the Yakshinis, Gandharvas or Kinnaras and god knows what else are causing unsolicited erotic dreams to squeez away whatever vitality is left after the strain of the days saadana.
and trust me, whatever these things are they know their job too well. all they need is 10- 15 seconds of inalertness. and the good news is that i have i think devised some means to frustrate them to an extent.
earlier they were only dreams but gradually they began to give eeiree touches even at day time. i was advised to shift my residence which i did to a near by Lord hanuman Temple with some respite.
Of late i have made enquiries and was told that this is a very common problem being faced by almost each and every person who is staying at Badari. And they dont seem to bother much but it is very distressing.
I have lost the count of the means i have applied to ward off these beings and with Gods grace iam ok but still apprehensive, only hope being divine help, which i guess would be with me.
to relate all that is happening will take much time. bye.
and i need not tell you i need all the prayers i can get.
bye Dhamamevajayathey!
